Make Your Own Fresh Floral Haku and Lei, as well as Enter Our Floral Design Contest this Saturday!

We’re just a few days away from our amazing Annual Haiku Ho’olaule’a & Flower Festival! One of the special aspects of this free community event is the FLOWERS. You’ll find our floral activities in two locations: The Community Living Tent and in the Middle of the Field.

In the Community Living Tent will be The Native Hawaiian Plant Society. They will have two booths due to their popularity. They bring all of the supplies and flowers to make lei and haku, which people can do with their help and walk away with something completely beautiful. Its something we started at the very first Haiku Ho’olaule’a & Flower Festival, and are still able to do with the help of Katie Romanchuk and her group. Katie grows most of the florals she uses, and we are grateful for their community involvement at our festival.

In the middle of the field there will be flowers donated by Maui Flower Growers Association and other growrs, which will be used for a floral design event that is FREE to participants. The florals will be judged and the top three get small cash prizes!

We auction all of the entries off in the Silent Auction. This is a wonderful way for amateurs to show-off their design skills!
